Record your screen and webcam at the same time

Put your face on a walkthrough without deciding where it goes before you have seen the recording. Supercut records your screen, your microphone and your camera as three separate tracks and never composites the camera into the picture, so the bubble is still an editable layer when the take is finished. Move it out of the way of the thing you are demonstrating, shrink it, or delete it and keep the voiceover.

How it works

  1. 1

Turn on the camera before you record

Pick what to record, then add your camera and microphone. Supercut opens your devices before the screen picker, so their startup time never eats into the recording.

  2. 2

    Record all three at once

Screen, microphone and camera roll together as separate tracks. The camera and microphone can only attach once the screen is already going, so each one records the gap it started with and is placed back in sync for you.

  3. 3

    Reposition the bubble, then export

On the timeline the camera is its own item. Drag it to a corner, resize it, remove it, or let it react to a zoom on the screen underneath. Export a 4K mp4 when it looks right.

Tips

  • Put the bubble in the corner furthest from what you are pointing at.
  • Look at the camera for the opening line, then at the screen for the walkthrough.
  • Shrink the bubble once the demo starts, it competes with the cursor.
  • You can delete the camera afterwards and keep the voiceover.

Why it stays private

Supercut decodes, edits and exports your video entirely in your browser with WebAssembly. Your footage is never uploaded, the only thing that leaves your device is the text of your prompt, so the AI knows what edit to plan. Read more in our Privacy Policy.

Frequently asked questions

Is the webcam burned into the recording?

No. The camera is recorded as its own track and is only ever a layer on the timeline, so it stays movable, resizable and removable after the take. That is the main reason to record here rather than in a tool that composites the bubble in as it records.

Can I remove the camera later and keep the audio?

Yes. Delete the camera item and the microphone track carries on, so you end up with a clean screen recording and a voiceover.

Do the camera and the screen stay in sync?

Yes. The camera and microphone can only start once the screen is already rolling, so each records how late it was and is placed that far into the timeline. Pauses are folded out of all three the same way.

Do I need to install anything?

No. The browser recorder works in Chrome, Edge, Brave and Arc. The Mac and Windows apps add audio from the whole machine and zooms that follow your cursor.

Is any of this uploaded?

No. Your screen, your voice and your face are captured, edited and exported on your device. There is no server copy and no share link, because nothing leaves your machine.
